Terms of service
Last updated 10 October 2026.
1. Who this is between
These terms are between you and Avestan Studio LLC, a California limited liability company, which operates Boot Level. Creating an account means accepting them.
2. What you get
Access to online learning material: lessons, hands-on labs, exercises that run in your browser, practice exams, cheatsheets and portfolio projects — as described on the site at the time you subscribe.
What this is not. The practice exams are drawn from our own question banks and are not the questions from any vendor examination. Certification coverage figures are our own honest assessment of overlap with published exam objectives. We do not promise that you will pass any certification, or obtain employment. Nothing here is professional advice, and you should not run our examples against systems you are not authorised to test.
3. Your account
- You must be 16 or over.
- Give accurate details and keep your password to yourself.
- One person per account. Sharing sign-in details is not permitted.
- Tell us promptly at support@bootlevel.com if you think someone else has access.
4. The free trial
New accounts get 7 days of full access. No payment details are needed, and nothing starts automatically when it ends — the content simply locks until you subscribe. Your account, and everything you earned in it, stays exactly as it was. There is nothing to cancel.
The trial is one per person. An account registered with an address that has already had one — including the same Gmail address written with dots or a +tag — starts without it.
5. Subscriptions and payment
- Prices are shown on the pricing page before you pay.
- Payment is taken by PayPal. We never see your card details.
- Monthly and annual subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled.
- Cancel at any time from the billing page. Access continues to the end of the period you have paid for; we do not pro-rate part-periods.
- Changing plan: moving to more access — one path to every path, or to Lifetime — takes effect at once and is charged in full at once, and the plan it replaces stops renewing without a refund of its unused days. Moving to the same or less access — annual to monthly, or every path to one — takes effect when the period you have paid for ends, and is first charged then.
- Single Path Monthly can move to a different path once per billing period, free, from the billing page. Lifetime covers the one path it was bought for.
- If a payment fails we will email you and retry over several days. If it keeps failing, the subscription is cancelled and the content locks. Your account and progress are untouched.
- Price changes are announced by email at least 30 days before they take effect.
6. Refunds and cancellation rights
If you are a consumer in the UK or EU you have a statutory 14-day right to cancel a purchase. By starting to use the content you consent to it beginning immediately, and acknowledge you will lose that right once it has been fully performed.
Beyond that: if the service does not work as described, tell us and we will put it right or refund you. We do not otherwise refund part-used periods, which is why the trial exists and needs no card.
A refund ends the access that payment bought, when the refund is made — for a Lifetime purchase too — and a refunded subscription does not renew. A partial refund, where we give back part of a payment as a goodwill gesture, leaves your access as it was. A chargeback is treated as a full refund.
7. What you may and may not do
The content is licensed to you for your own learning. You may not:
- Republish, resell or redistribute it, in whole or in part.
- Share your account, or your access, with anyone else.
- Scrape or bulk-download it, or attempt to circumvent access controls.
- Attack the service, or use it to attack anyone else.
- Publish lab flags or exam answers where others can find them.
Anything you write — code, notes, project work — is yours. We claim no rights over it.
8. Availability
We aim to keep the service available but do not guarantee uninterrupted access. Maintenance is announced in advance where we can. We may change or withdraw features; if a change materially reduces what you paid for, you may cancel and we will refund the unused part of the period.
To keep it working we record errors when they happen, and count visits and sign-ups without cookies. What that involves, and who sees it, is set out in the privacy notice.
9. Ending the agreement
You may stop at any time by cancelling and, if you wish, deleting your account from the account page. Deletion is immediate and permanent.
We may suspend or close an account that breaches section 7, or that is used unlawfully. Where it is reasonable to do so we will warn you first and give you a chance to put it right. If we close your account without cause we will refund the unused part of the period.
10. Liability
Nothing here limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited — including your statutory rights as a consumer.
Subject to that, we are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for loss of profit, opportunity or data; and our total liability is limited to what you paid us in the 12 months before the claim.
11. Changes to these terms
Material changes are announced by email at least 30 days beforehand. Continuing to use the service after they take effect means accepting them; if you would rather not, cancel and we will refund the unused part of your period.
12. Governing law
These terms are governed by the law of the State of California, United States, and its courts have exclusive jurisdiction. If you are a consumer, this does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory law of the country you live in.
